Traveling creates memories for a group of people, but Google travel doesn't even support the group of people to co-edit their trips.
Discovery

We heard a lot of voices of users on Reddit are complaining about Google travel doesn't provide a way for them to co-editing and sharing their trips. This makes their planning process harder and complicated than ever because there's always an argument inside the travel groups about the trip while they are traveling and all these are because the trips are not being transparent in the group. We keep discovering more insights with this in mind and identified 2 major types of uses which are the one who loves the planning works and the other who is more likely to adapt to go with the flow.

The most common scenario/problem without co-editing/transparency on the trip is the person who wants to go with the flow gives the authority to the other person who loves planning, and this person spent a week or so for all the dirty works. When they arrive at their destination and about to check out the most popular place in the city, the one who is going with flow says he already been to this place last time he visited the city and doesn't want to waste his money and time for something he has already known. Then a fight between these good friends about to happened and this would ruin the whole trip.

This is why have a function that will allow the users to
share and co-editing the trip so critical.
From defining problems -> Crafting solutions

I heard the voice of the users “People need ways to collaboratively plan for a trip”, but what is collaboration means to the users and what do they need for it?
Findings
After talking to the users, collaboration means a working environment for all the members to build an unforgettable trip with no drama and every member would enjoy together.
What do we need to make such an environment?
Let’s hear the user’s complains
“I want to share my thoughts with the team on the places, so we can go to all the places that everybody loves.”
“I want to share my thoughts with the team on the places, so we can go to all the places that everybody loves.”
“I want to share my thoughts with the team on the places, so we can go to all the places that everybody loves.”
Form researches, I found what the users actually want:

Communication
The ability to share their thoughts on places during the planning other than just get notified after the trip is planned.

Collaboration
The ability to collaborate with teammates and to co-edit the planning process.

Communication
The ability to share their thoughts on places during the planning other than just get notified after the trip is planned.

These are the major areas we will design for a
better trip planning experience.

Setting up the structure

I break the major areas into actionable chunks.
Communication

Collaboration

Synchronize

Design for seamless

To make an awesome product, my bottom line is to make users feel no difference between editing alone and with
other members.
Here are my three steps in achieving this: Explore > Change > Migrate
Explore - the current trip
The current trip page will be the first place that the new users land on because they need to see their current trip's process in the first place. The user's indicators will help them to know who they have in their team so they will be clear whom they will communicate with.

Leave a comment - viewer

This function just remains the comment section to the viewers so it can be efficient and functional without distractions.

Leave a comment - editor

Editors will be able to access the full function and make the possible changes according to the communication with the team.

Change - editing current trip
Change attraction

Editing works the best when it's a collaborative process in a travel group. I focused mainly on how to encourage our users to take action.

Add attraction

Users used have to add attractions to the bookmark first then add them to their trip. I want to make the process easier and more efficient. The add-to-trip option will help them to achieve that.

Migrate - Synchronize the trip
It's really important to provide more ways for the users to access their itineraries since not all the places are available to access the internet. By providing the users to synchronize the trips to google calendar making the itineraries accessible everywhere. In addition, this change will also allow the users to become more engaging with google products.
